Before You Download...

Beta software is software which has been developed but hasn't gone through the full testing cycle. As such it can be buggy, incomplete, and may require you to make manual changes to either the software itself or to your system in general.

It sounds obvious, but it's worth repeating - here are some general guidelines about using Beta software:

• Back up your important files first
• Don't use an important computer (e.g. one you need for work)
• You need to have a bit of general technical knowledge about Windows
• You need to know which version of Windows you're running, along with any software you've installed
• Check the release notes and included read-me's before installing - you may need to uninstall previous Betas before installing the latest one
• Support will be minimal

It's a Two-way Street

Aside from allowing you to see current progress, the main reason for releasing beta software is for you to provide feedback to the developers about what's good, what's bad and what simply just doesn't work. You can send feedback via email, but better is to join the Snarl Developer Group which will give you access to other beta testers and the development team.
